Real OTS analysis
Land of the deadLand of the dead was going to be what our OTS was going to be about. As a zombie theme was originally going to be our genre, we decided to research the film and analyse what to input. It gave us many ideas considering how to make it scary and where to shoot our scenes. However to film a zombie movie would have been difficult due to the large demand for actors and blood.

IT
I know what you did last summer |
Stephen King's IT was the second film we decided to research. As it was a different genre it gave us many new ideas considering who to film and how to film them. As there was only one murderer instead of an army of undead we needed to focus more time on the singular killer to make him more horror like and scary. As It was supernatural we could stretch the boundaries of what is believable, this enabled us to go to town on how to kill people and what our murderer was going to look like.

the ring (2002)
At the start of the film the two female characters are discussing the TV microwave radiation and how it’s bad for us. This gives a real sense of irony, as throughout the film the TV is the main antagonist. This film also works with the main stereotypes of the horror genre. For example, the female characters are in the house alone, as the parents are away. This represents the vulnerability because in horrors there are quite often only 2 characters, and as seen in The Ring, one is missing at the time of the crisis. This makes it an effective opening, as the characters get developed before the main action starts, so we can feel empathy for them. We will use the idea of the false scares to create tension in our film, as it is very effective at causing the audience to be engaged and be on the edge of their seats.
